On the Road explores the experiences of Central American migrants traveling through the United States or seeking refuge in Mexico due to unsafe conditions in their home countries. The migrants were invited to participate in staged photographs set in environments that evoke middle-class American travel and consumer culture. These settings sharply contrast with the harsh realities of their actual journeys and the challenging conditions they have endured.
